Creating and Styling CG Hair
Blizzard's Becca Baldwin's 8 week, fully mentored workshop, "Creating and Styling CG Hair" is back in July 2013 - again featuring LIVE weekly webinar sessions for student feedback in addition to the regular video and forums!
In this course you will learn how to dive in to CG hair for the first time or improve skills you already have. Any skill level is welcome! The course is flexible to work with you to improve your skills wherever they may be, in whichever hair package you choose to use. At the end of the course you will have several portfolio pieces you can use whether it is focusing solely on a hair portfolio or adding the finishing touches on character models.
Moving through the course you'll work on techniques for long and short hair for men and women, facial hair and body hair. You'll learn about coloring and shading as well as methods of achieving different looks such as wet hair, greasy hair, hair that's been messed up in a fight etc. Each week, there are specific assignments set and Becca will give you individual feedback on your work.
Becca will be there along the way to walk you through advanced techniques to achieve any human hair style and how to integrate them into production pipelines. You will learn ways to work quicker and smarter, optimizing your groom to avoid painful render times that often make hair difficult to work with, as well as ways to become more efficient with your grooming workflow.
At the end of the course you will have several pieces to add to your portfolio as well as having the skills to tackle any human hair style you could want.
After going through this class, I am now confident to tackle any hairstyle and it's all thanks to Becca. She is very encouraging and her tutorials are full of invaluable information they are simply amazing. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to get that much closer to creating realistic characters. - Anthony Valley, student, June 2012
"Becca is an amazing tutor.. very positive and helpful and responds to questions quickly and in detail so you're constantly moving forwards. So much effort and content was packed into each set of classes and having hardly touched CG hair before, the pace was perfect. She also provided extra videos to look after both Maya and 3DSMax users as well as providing short written articles each week explaining what to look out for and how to achieve certain looks and styles which complimented the videos perfectly. If you want to learn CG hair.. this is definitely the course! I hope she comes back with another class in the future, as I'll be sure signing up for it!" Paul Ashall, student, June 2012
